My Aims
I intend to get to the stage where I can make good demos as fast as I can write 'em!
Writing has never been the problem - all I need is a guitar, a pencil and a notebook - it's all the rest of the associated hassle that goes along with it...
Over the years most modern songwriters have realised that they needed to develop a whole raft of skills they never could have envisioned having to master at the outset of their journey - multiskillin' aint in it!
In my case, I had to buy a computer, buy the right software, buy the right hardware, get some more instruments, improve my guitar skills, beg other people to sing for me, think about marketing --- the list goes on and on and on..
One day I finally had enough accumulated knowledge and equipment to press forward and record my songs --- NOW a couple of years later I have had to learn to construct a website!
I have definitely arrived at the point where I can write, record and get my material on the net quickly without begging other people to do it for me any more --- Hooray!
With a little more effort I will be able to produce radio playable songs for myself without much assistance from others. (I'll still need a singer of course!)
NONE of the song demos on this site are at radio playable level - It's taken me eight years to get THIS far!
You CAN now expect the new songs to be far better recorded than anything I have put on this site to date .... (from Oct 2006) -- I hope that you'll come back regularly and share in the triumphs and disasters of my songwriting and film adventures?
New songs should now become available on a fairly regular basis - once I have put the finishing touches to this site!
A big thanks to everyone who has helped me so far -- You all know who you are! -- I will put your names in another 'Thank You' section of this site as time permits. For now, it's time for me to press on to success and not worry too much about the challenges ahead.
Please sign the visitors book and give me a leg up towards the greater heights looming on my creative horizon. You can do this by giving me good advice and information that might benefit my progress i.e. I like this song a whole lot better than the last one - and that one's rubbish!
Any references to 'opening a vein and getting into a nice hot bath' will be deleted from the book.... (If I've actually got as far as setting one up by the time you've read this.
Please also recommend a visit to this site to your friends and anyone who might be remotely interested in finding songs to cover, or backing a film project, or printing a book based on the characters in Guern of Atlantis....
